China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2011 will fill all four halls of the modern Qingdao International Convention Center. A thriving seaside city of 7 million people, Qingdao was the host city for the 2008 Olympic sailing events. This area has the largest seafood re-processing industry in China. Companies in Qingdao and the surrounding Shandong Province import and export USD$6 billion worth of seafood a year – almost a third of China’s total international seafood trade. While Qingdao has modern hotels and restaurants, it retains much of its old world character. Its convenient international airport has numerous daily flights from throughout China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
Early November is still the Golden Season in Qingdao. Days are normally dry and temperatures range from 16°C - 20°C, (60.8°F to 68° F). |
